示例：
用于表達命令、請求、勸告、警告、禁止等的句子叫做祈使句，祈使句最常用于表達命令，因此在學校文法中也常稱為命令句。
祈使句因對象（即主語）是第二人稱，所以通常都省略。祈使句的動詞都為一般現在時，句末則使用句號來表示結束。例：
Go and wash your hands.
（去洗你的手。——命令）
Be quiet, please.(Please be quiet.)
（請安靜。——請求）
Be kind to our sister.
（對姊妹要和善。——勸告）
Watch your steps.
（走路小心。——警告）

祈使句也常把主語“You”表達出來，使對方聽起來覺得柔和些，例如：

規律：
●肯定結構：
1. Do型（即：動詞原形（+賓語）+其它成分）。如：Please have a seat here. 請這邊坐。
有的祈使句在意思明確的情況下，動詞可省略。如：This way, please. = Go this way, please. 請這邊走。
2. Be型（即：Be + 表語（名詞或形容詞）+其它成分）。如：Be a good boy！ 要做一個好孩子！
3. Let型（即：Let + 賓語 + 動詞原形 + 其它成分）。如：Let me help you. 讓我來幫你。
●否定結構：
1. Do型和Be型的否定式都是在句首加don't構成。如：Don't forget me！ 不要忘記我！
Don't be late for school！ 上學不要遲到！
2. Let型的否定式有兩種：“Don't + let + 賓語 + 動詞原形 + 其它成分”和“Let + 賓語 + not + 動詞原形 + 其它成分”。如：Don't let him go. / Let him not go. 別讓他走。
3. 有些可用no開頭，用來表示禁止性的祈使句。如：No smoking！ 禁止吸煙！No fishing！ 禁止釣魚！

suggestion n.可數 建議；示意；微量，細微的跡象 They took her suggestion. 他們采納了她的建議。
suggest vt. 提議，建議；啟發；使人想起 I suggest that we go to the lake for this weekend. 我建議我們周末去湖邊。 I suggest going to the lake for this weekend.我建議我們周末去湖邊。
propose v. 建議，求婚 He proprosed to climb the hill tomorrow. 他建議明天去爬山 proposal n. 提議，建議；求婚 They refused his proposal to go hiking. 他們拒絕了他的遠足提議。 advise vt. 建議；勸告，忠告；通知；警告 vi. 建議；與…商量 advise的常用句式 advise doing sth 建議做某事。
如：He advised leaving early. 他建議早點動身。
注：不能直接后跟不定式作賓語。所以不能說：* He advised to leave early. 2. advise sb to do sth 建議某人做某事。
如：He advised me to buy a computer. 他建議我買臺電腦。注：以上意思也可用后接從句的形式表達（注意從句用 should+v. 這樣的虛擬語氣）。
如上面第一句也可說成：He advised that I (should) buy a computer. 3. advise sb against doing sth 勸告某人不要做某事。如：He advised her against going out at night. 他勸她晚上不要出去。
注：該句型有時可與 advise sb not to do sth 替換。 如上面第一句也可說成：He advised her not to go out at night. 4. advise sb of sth 通知或告知某人有某情況。
如： Please advise us of the arrival of the goods. 貨物到達時請通知我們 advice n.不可數 通知；忠告；建議；勸告 例如 He gave me a piece of good advice. 他給了我一個好忠告。 recommendation n. 推薦；建議；推薦信 On O'Leary's recommendation, they started with tortellini. 在奧利里的推薦下，他們首先點了意大利餃子 offer n. 提議；出價；意圖；錄取通知書 vt. 提供；出價；試圖 vi. 提議；出現；獻祭；求婚 例如 He offered to have dinner at his home. 他建議去他家吃晚飯。
