為什麼說“生如夏花”呢？臺灣作家羅蘭曾在散文《夏天組曲》中寫道：“夏天的花和春花不同，夏天的花有濃烈的生命之力。如果說，春花開放是因為風的溫慰，那麼夏天的花就是由于太陽的激發了。”說“生如夏花”正是因為夏花具有絢麗繁榮的生命，它們在陽光最飽滿的季節綻放，如奔馳、跳躍、飛翔著的生命的精靈，以此來詮釋生命的輝煌燦爛。
